A Supported Colorado Springs Home Birth of a Third Time Mom

This birth was exactly what my heart needed. Kat and I became friends shortly before her birth and then she hired me for her birth. I got the text at 7:14pm that her water had broken. I started getting ready because her last labor was only 2.5 hours. I told her to keep me updated but I was ready whenever she was. I got called in at around 10:45 pm and I arrived at her house at 11:20. Her doula and the midwife were already there. She was sitting on her birth ball being supported through all the waves. She moved from the ball to the bathroom and after a few minutes in the bathroom she started feeling the urge to push.

She moved to the pool to finish off her labor. She switched positions a few times and worked her baby down beautifully. Her doula and her husband supported her with so much love.

The more intense the waves became, the more she needed support. She asked us all to hum while she moaned through the contractions. For about 30 minutes we hummed with her while she pushed her baby down.

Baby was born en caul with a compound presentation.

This was one of the most supported births I have ever been to. From the room to the people in it, everything was beautiful.
