A Home Birth Gone Right- Colorado Springs Homebirth with Mountain Miracles Midwifery
It is normal to have fear when walking into a new experience of any type. I like to help moms work through their fears so they are confident before their births. This mom worked through all her feelings like a champ. She had me completely fooled!
I got the call at around 7:30am that she was in early labor and I headed over to her at about 8:30 when things started to pick up in pace and intensity. When I got there she was working through each wave with ease. She used the comfort of her home to walk around and stay comfortable. The pool was set up and ready for whenever she was.
At around 12:30 things really started to pick up and contractions were only 3 minutes apart, but she was still working through them wonderfully and taking her breaks perfectly. She let her body ease into each wave and relaxed through them all.
At around 1:30pm she moved to the birth pool to help her relax through the waves as she was starting to tense up during the peak. Right away she told me “I think I am pushing.” I called the midwife in right away. Just 20 minutes before that I had told her she had time. The waves were close, but she was handling everything so well I couldn’t believe she was actually that close!
The midwife arrived at 2pm and baby was born peacefully into her daddy’s arms at 2:18pm.
